In 2018, S12 Solutions was piloted and commissioned in two sites, and the experience was used to develop the next iteration of the platform; to fulfil this task, S12 Solutions employed its own development team. Interest in the concept continued to flow, encouraged by Amy’s appointment in 2019 as an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Fellow and S12 Solutions one of its high-impact, evidence-based innovations. Next, S12 Solutions succeeded in its application to NHS England’s Innovation and Technology Payment, an initiative which supports the spread and adoption of proven, affordable innovations; account management and product support teams were introduced to look after sites preparing to launch in 2019 and early 2020. Earlier this year, the S12 Solutions’ leadership team developed the company’s vision, mission, values, behaviours and performance management framework, to make sure that the team was supported through continuous, rapid growth. This work was assessed by Investors in People, the global standard for people management, which defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results; last month, S12 Solutions was awarded Gold Standard accreditation.

S12 Solutions’ Investors in People assessor described the result as ‘an incredible achievement for an organisation undertaking their first Investors in People assessment […] the management team and staff should feel immensely proud to have achieved the Gold award.’ The report also notes the team’s passion for working on a product that supports the mental health crisis care pathway and the organisation’s ‘unbelievable energy.’ S12 Solutions’ assessment scores were also above average; for example, 100% of the team strongly agreed that the organisation is committed to delivering continuous long-term improvement, and 97.3% strongly agreed that the organisation is creating sustainable success.
